RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — RVA Food Co-Lab, a new unique culinary hub focusing on allergen-free food and beverages, will be opening at Stony Point Fashion Park this week.

The RVA Food Co-Lab is a collaborative space for four local food and beverage companies that produce and sell allergen-free items focusing on gut health, probiotics and prebiotics. These brands are Lily Bean/Pastry Base, MOTHERshrub, Owl Spool Water Kefir Co. and The Green Kitchen.

According to a Stony Point spokesperson, RVA Food Co-Lab was designed to be a space for the community, hosting events like cooking classes and parties.

RVA Food Co-Lab will host its grand opening from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14. Attendees can witness the ribbon-cutting, check out the new facility and even have some complimentary hors d’oeuvres, desserts and beverages.

The first 50 guests in attendance will receive Swag Bags, according to Stony Point spokesperson.

In addition, RVA Food Co-Lab will be hosting two other events during its grand opening week:

St. Patty’s Bake & Sip Party

  • Friday, March 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
  • This St. Patrick’s Day event will feature a baking class with Chef Jill Donaldson, creator of LillyBean by Pastry Base. Attendees will have the chance to make Irish Coffee cupcakes while enjoying tasty drinks. Sign-ups are available here.

Allergen Free Kids’ Sugar Cookie “Egg” Coloring Class

  • Saturday, March 16, from 1 to 2 p.m.
  • This Easter event will feature a baking class with Chef Jill Donaldson, creator of LillyBean by Pastry Base. Attendees will make Gluten-Free Sugar Cookies and decorate them afterward. Sign-ups are available here.
